Synthesis and Characterisation of Nanoparticles

Nanoparticle synthesis creates tiny particles through various methods, followed by detailed analysis of their properties. This is crucial for customizing their applications in medicine, electronics, and environmental remediation.

Goals and Objectives:
  • To synthesize nanoparticles utilizing appropriate methods.
  • To analyse the characteristics of the synthesized nanoparticles.
Expected Outcomes:

Students will gain insight into the fundamental processes involved in synthesizing nanoparticles, as well as the methods for characterizing them. Additionally, they will develop an understanding of the health-related applications of nanotechnology. Furthermore, students will explore the diverse range of applications that nanotechnology and nanoparticles offer.

Special Feature:

A visit to the Centre for Nano and Material Sciences (CNMS) for basic characterization of the synthesized nanoparticles.

  • Basic understanding of chemistry.
  • Willingness to conduct experiments and analyze data systematically.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and communicate findings effectively.
